       NEW TOURNAMENT RULES

The Angler’s Club will put up $100 to the club member with the longest target species fish of the “Tournament”. An angler can bring a fish back to the dock at the specified end time to be measured by the Tournament chairman OR they can take a picture of the fish on a tape measure and just bring the picture to show the Tournament chairman. (DO NOT BRING AN ILLEGAL SIZE FISH BACK TO THE DOCK)! Make sure the length is IDENTIFIABLE if you take a picture or video. IN CASE OF A TIE OF LENGTH, AND the tied leading fish are brought back to the dock, the leading fish will be weighed on the same scale and the heavier fish will be declared the winner. IF THERE IS A TIE OF LENGTH AND both fish have been released, the first fish caught will be declared the winner. This time will be verified in the details section of the picture of the fish on a tape measure. IF THERE IS A TIE AND one fish is released and one fish is kept without a picture to be measured at the dock, then the tournament chairman can split the winnings 50/50.Each angler that plans to fish a Tournament should check in with the Tournament Chairman before leaving. If you plan on fishing but leave late, you can call the Tournament Chairman Ray Willett at 757 709 0215. All Tournament anglers must leave and return to the port listed on the tournament schedule at the appointed time in the Tournament schedule. You must be AT THE PORT at the end of the Tournament time written on the schedule for your fish to be counted. If you quit fishing early and have a fish to enter, make sure you contact Ray Willett to make sure your fish gets entered correctly. Any ties will be decided by the Tournament Chairman. The Outings/Tournament schedule was mailed to each club member at the beginning of the year and is also listed on the club’s website at http://www.esanglersclub.org/. The $100 prize will only be available to club members IN GOOD STANDING and will be paid at the CLUB AWARDS BANQUET in March of each year. There will be membership applications at the take off port at each of the Tournaments. Club membership is only $25 per family and $20 for an individual to become a member of the Eastern Shore Angler’s Club for a whole calendar year. SO PLEASE BRING YOUR CHILDREN TO FISH WITH YOU! They are our future. Youth anglers will still earn points towards the Junior “Outings/Tournament” champion to be awarded at the March banquet. Junior tournament champ wins $100! The adults will no longer earn points and there will not be an adult tournament champ from this point forward. The award for adults winning a tournament is the $100 per tournament paid at the March banquet. Be sure to check out our Instagram and Facebook pages!
